2005 Cigno Nero

Modelled on Italy’s ‘Super Tuscan’ blends, this sangiovese/cabernet sauvignon blend is named after the black swan which frequented the dam during the growing season.

This wine has the typical sangiovese characters but has a little more structure on the palate from the addition of 10% cabernet sauvignon. Skillful blending has resulted in the cabernet sauvignon adding depth and complexity without dominating the wine unnecessarily. A good food wine which is particularly enjoyed with meat or tomato based dishes.

Cellaring Potential: Drinking well now and will improve with careful cellaring for up to four years.

Wine Maker: Moore Hazzard
